Call for Tutorials
Tutorial proposals are open. Send us your idea today!
We are happy to announce the Call for Tutorials for the fifth edition of the Hardware Reverse Engineering Workshop (HARRIS 2027), to be held from March 1 to March 3, 2027, at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore.
Tutorials will take place on March 1, 2027, the day before the main workshop, on the NTU main campus. Following the very positive reception of the tutorials at HARRIS 2026, we would like to expand this part of the program and are looking for instructors willing to share their expertise with the community.
This call is intended to gauge interest. We ask for a rough outline only, not a fully developed syllabus. If your proposal fits the program, we will get in touch to work out the details together.
Scope
We welcome tutorials on any topic related to hardware reverse engineering and adjacent fields, for example:
- Sample preparation, imaging, and image processing
- Invasive, semi-invasive, and non-invasive analysis techniques
- Netlist extraction and netlist-level reverse engineering
- FPGA bitstream and PCB reverse engineering
- Obfuscation and anti-reverse-engineering techniques
- Hardware trojans, hardware assurance and trust
- Tooling and frameworks, including open-source tools
- IC design perspectives relevant to reverse engineering
Tutorials may target beginners or advanced participants, and may be theoretical, hands-on, or a mix of both. We aim for a balanced program across these dimensions.
Format
- Duration: we are aiming for 4 hours, shorter or longer sessions may be possible
- Capacity: up to 40 participants, fewer at the instructor’s discretion
- Location: NTU main campus, Singapore
- Equipment and lab access: limited access to facilities at NTU’s National Integrated Centre for Evaluation (NiCE) may be possible. Please tell us what you would need and we will discuss the options with you individually.
How to Respond
Please fill out this short form:
It asks for a working title, a few sentences on the content, and some basic practical information. It should take no more than ten minutes.
Deadline: November 15, 2026
